Arik Air adds extra flights on to the Lagos-Accra route
Arik Air adds extra flights on to the Lagos-Accra route
25/08/2011
Arik Air, Africa’s fastest growing airline, has increased the frequency of flights on the Lagos, Nigeria to Accra, Ghana route effective from Saturday, 27th August 2011.
The extra flight will operate on Saturdays and will depart Lagos at 5:00 pm (local time), arriving in to Accra at the same time 5:00 pm (local time). The return flight leaves Accra at 5:45 pm (local time) and arrives in Lagos at 7:45 pm (local time).
Introducing the extra flight now means greater flexibility and more choice for passengers who can connect onward to Accra from inbound flights from New York JFK (arrives in to Lagos Murtala Muhammed Airport at 1:45 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and Johannesburg (arrives daily at 1:55 pm) on a Saturday. The return flight on Saturdays connects to the Saturday evening departures from Lagos to Johannesburg.
Bert van der Stege, Vice President Planning & Marketing at Arik Air, commented on the additional flights between Lagos and Accra:
“There is an increasing demand on the Lagos-Accra route and not just from within Nigeria. We have added the extra flight to ensure that we meet the demand from international destinations such as Johannesburg and New York for connections at convenient times. Offering an afternoon flight on a Saturday will satisfy that demand as passengers to and from South Africa or the USA will be able to seamlessly transfer to their connecting flight in Lagos”.
Arik Air is committed to providing all of our passengers with a range of services, all at suitable times Passengers originating from London and travelling onward to Accra already benefit from easy connections early morning as Arik currently operates a twice daily schedule between the two West African cities with a Boeing New Generation 737 700/800.
