Mr. Chris Ndulue has been appointed the Acting Managing Director of Arik Air, Nigeria’s largest airline.
Ndulue was, until his appointment, the Deputy Managing Director of the airline. He is the first indigenous staff to occupy the position.

According to a statement by the Chairman of Arik Air, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Johnson, the appointment not only marks a milestone in the history of the young and fast-expanding airline, it also demonstrates, once again, Arik Air’s unflinching commitment to invest in and develop local capacity.

The statement added that Ndulue brings to his new office excellent skills in customer service relations, combined with valuable insights in the economics of the local, regional and international aviation market.

Ndulue has over 20 years experience in accounting and financial management across various industries – the conglomerates, banking, oil & gas, engineering/construction and aviation. He was at various times, Chief Finance Officer of Global Energy, Financial Controller in the Dangote Group, and Managing Director of Metro Energy, West Africa, before joining Arik Air.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He also holds a Masters Degree in Managerial Psychology. He has received various trainings in aviation and general management both in Nigeria, Europe and the United States of America.
Ndulue is married with children.

Meanwhile, the former managing director, Mr. Michael McTighe, is on an extended leave of absence.
